A Dessert . . . er . . . Desert, to die for

24 Nov

Just Desserts

Death by chocolate

all reason leaves the being

breath taken away

Death by chocolate

quickening pulse overtakes

heart stops with desire

Stay with vanilla

languishing longings subside

live a longer life

Whoops!!  Sorry, wrong prompt!!

Here’s the correct prompt . . .

Just Deserts

Death in the desert

All moisture leaves the body

breath taken away

Death in the desert
slow pulse life slipping away
heart stops with the heat

Stay in the suburbs

cozy, comfortable, cool

Die by chocolate

Hi there woof! woof! I kept smiling thru your desserts and desert! LOL..
I have not submitted anything this week, just going round, admiring – ♥

For some reason, at first glance, I often confuse the two words … I like the clever way you included both (particularly for people like me!! ;-) )
I am late in submitting and reading …

      Becca,
I always confuse desert and dessert, thus the post. I wrote the Death by Chocolate think that was the prompt, then I rechecked and realized desert was not dessert and didn’t want to ditch my chocolate haiku so I linked it to desert and it just came together it a weird weird way. Similiar to life.

hahahaha…….loved the way you swiped the words. I would rather die by chocolate!

      Sabio, Joanne,
ANYONE who calls me “clever” is automatically a new friend for life.

    Clever, cute and delicious.

Vanilla no thanks. By chocolate – I’ll die a thousand deaths.

  7. Green Speck November 25, 2012 at 10:37 am #

Ha ha ha … loved both the prompts :-P

  8. Valli November 25, 2012 at 3:45 am #

Haha! Very different take on the prompt! Dying by chocolate would be as sweet as chocolate :D

    Life by chocolate.
    Melts in mouth chewy goodness.
    Kills? Good way to go!

Death by chocolate sounds like the way to go. Great name for an icecream and good way to survive suburban life:)

Still chuckling! Amazing how you have connected the desert with a passion for chocolate!

  13. tigerbrite November 24, 2012 at 10:44 pm #

The chocolate looks decidedly dangerous :)

  14. heavenhappens November 24, 2012 at 10:18 pm #

Very clever and amusing ~ would love to venture into the desert but return to the dessert!

  15. Grace November 24, 2012 at 9:21 pm #

I can believe that death by chocolates ~ Alas death in the desert would be very tragic ~

I like the way you did that. Nice one. Now, where’s my chocolate? ;-)

Smiles, chuckles, giggles and laugh- out -louds too. Loved your play on words and your sense of humor. Haiku can get soooo serious!
