Just returned from my cardiologist — follow-up pacemaker visit. Tallulah Pacehead is doing what she was created to do. However, I’ve been taking her “pacing” not just to heart but to abdomen. I’m beginning to have as wide a girth as Tallulah. I don’t carry it nearly as well as she does.
Although my heart is beating steadily, my blood pressure is rising with my weight. I’ve tried everything –Atkins, Weight Watchers, Dr. Oz, Calorie Counting, pacts with friends, on-line, off-line — each for a few days at a time . . . I have not had the proper motivation until now – 3 immediate family members died of strokes.
Tallulah doesn’t like the pressure of pumping my blood.
My cardiologist doesn’t like my weight or my blood pressure.
I don’t like the fact I have to go on blood pressure medication.
This is how desperate I am . . .
I’m going public!!!!!!!
Every Saturday before midnight, between now and January 1, 2011, I will post how much weight I’ve lost for that week. That’s 8 weeks of wonderful will-power or public humiliation.
P.S. Any of you with me?
If you want to join me to motivate and keep you on track too, send me a comment with your FIRST and/or LAST name. I’ll post your commitment and weight reduction with mine every week.
I have an idea why the weight gain, and thus the blood pressure increase. Now that your heartbeat is not so rapid and erratic you aren’t burning as many calories. The pacemaker made everything slow and steady right?
At least knowing why might be a help.
You do realize that you are choosing the hardest time of year to lose weight????? Just checking!

I’m so excited for you and Tallulah! What is your plan to shed the pounds? It took me a year and a half but I lost 40 lbs by eating a Lean Cuisine and a apple four – five days a week instead of fast food. Good luck and I’m looking forward to seeing your progress the next 8 weeks!!!!
