Forrest: “That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I’d run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I’d just run across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I’d just run across the great state of Alabama. And that’s what I did. I ran clear across Alabama.
For no particular reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I’d gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. When I got to another ocean, I figured, since I’d gone this far, I might as well just turn back, keep right on going”.
I’m preparing a Guided Imagery workshop for this week-end ,”Finding Purpose”. Every time I facilitate this particular workshop I find myself re-viewing my own life’s journey.
At any point in time it always seems that “things happen TO me” as I crisscrossed through life for no particular reason.
In hind-sight the longer I run the faster I go. These last 15 years have given me a lifetime of experience: Having fibromyalgia has given me greater compassion; Having heart problems reminds me to wake up everyday with a loving heart; My study of Baha’i has removed my fears and given me wisdom.
Compassion, love and wisdom – Everything has happened for a reason.
Did you hear that, Forrest?
Go go go Fairest Ummp! 🙂

I use a form of guided imagery to help deal with my chronic pain. It does help bring healing, calming, and purposeful thoughts into the soul.
I actually never saw Forest Gump (perhpas the only person in the world?) but I think I get the analogies.
