Passing Souls

I was told by my Baha’i spiritual guide that all souls acknowledge each other in passing whether we literally greet one another or not.

That notion has brought me incredible pleasure.  So wherever I go – to the market, post-office, a walk down the block – when I pass a stranger I smile knowing that my soul is saying “hello” to their soul.  Sometimes the strangers smile back.

In silence we touch

Strangers passing without words

soul to soul to soul.

“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.”

  1. Namaste from India….you have said it so well Judy… and there are those rare occasions too when you feel that pull… because of some eternal connection…aren’t those called soul-mates.. RS:)

  2. I think that’s why I love the word Namaste’ ~ meaning the spirit within me honors the spirit within you. To me, a smile means Namaste’.
