Siggi,
Whatever swamped you a few decades ago you obviously managed to swim your way to the shore.

Magic, the ones I’ve not tried yet (see my other replies) which you might are: Gorilla Glue, plasticene, bubble gum and wood sealant. Let me know which works best.
While you’re trying them out I’d suggest wearing a life vest.

Phylor,
I actually don’t know what #linkz is. It automatically comes up when anyone posts on the Haiku-Heights blog. It must be a linking service that you can subscribe to like Ping.

Thanks — I’m still a ludite! I won’t ask what ping is — I only know some of my blog enteries get pinged. I always think of ping and pong and expect a small white ball to bounce off my computer screen!

Loved the bit of advice in the end … but how does one water-proof one’s life?

Jolly, Like I said before I’ve tried duct tape, plastic wrap and tar. They all leak. Next on my list is Gorilla Glue.

Love, love, love this! Doing the best we can do is the best we can do. I’m thinking we should learn how to bail.

Patti,
Yes! bailing! now I don’t have to keep looking for water-proofing. It’s easier to bail if you are alone in the boat because sometimes others get in the way of your pail.

Icosahedron is a great word and almost does justice to the image. I wouldn’t like to try and make that!
