Leaving on a Jet Plane

I may send this to Peter, Paul & Mary for their next comeback tour . . .

All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go
This post is here inside your screen
I hate to bother you a bit to say goodbye
But the day is breakin’, it’s no longer morn
My husband’s waiting, he’s blowin’ his horn
Already I’m so excited I could cry.

So bless me and smile for me
Tell me that you’ll wait for me
Read me like you’ll never let me go.

There’s so many times I’ve let you down
So many times I’ve joked around
I tell you now, they don’t mean a thing
Every place I go, I think of you
Every post I write, I write for you
When I come back, I’ll post you more.

Now close your eyes, and I’ll be on my way.
Dream about the posts to come
When I have time to be alone
About the times, I won’t have to say,

I’m leavin’ on a jet plane
Don’t know when I’ll be back again
Oh, babe, I want to go.

  1. I don’t know why Judy but my eyes welled…is it my emotional reaction to something beautiful you worte…Are you telling you will be out of touch for some time…? What it it?…Came here after giving you an email…waiting ….God bless!!!!!

  2. Safe journey! By the way, my flight attendant wife confirms that it is ALMOST impossible to open a cabin door, pressurized or not…
