Dear all my Human-Beings,
My Human-being, once again, didn’t take me to the Freddie Friday night HeART of Spirituality & Creativity workshop.

My Human-being told me everyone made prayer/inspiration cards and showed me these pictures as proof she wasn’t walking in the park.  I was suspicious because she stayed out very late.

I  took her for a walk when she got home.

P.S.  Thank all of you who, in addition to the $13 fee, left me a donation for doggie cookies!!!

P.P.S. Click on a picture and a slide gallery will appear!  Then you can see BIG pictures. (My Human-being JUST figured this out . . . after 3+ years . . . )

The HeART of a Freddieless Friday

Dear human and canine beings who weren’t able or weren’t allowed to attend last night’s Freddie Friday The HeART of Spirituality & Creativity Workshop/group thingey at my Human-beings office,

Another Freddie Friday without Freddie.  My human-being and 6 other human-beings ( I assume they were HUMAN-beings since all I have to go by are pictures . . . they appear to be human . . . however I have no proof that these humans were actually present on Freddie Friday since I wasn’t there).

DSCN5032

I was told that these human-beings made prayer flags, kinda like Tibetan prayer flags. However I have no proof that prayer flags were actually made on Freddie Friday since I wasn’t there):

“Traditionally, prayer flags do not carry prayers to gods, which is a common misconception; rather, the Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion into all-pervading space. Therefore, prayer flags are thought to bring benefit to all.” Wikipedia

and the Celestial Realm and all creation:

1. Truth (science, education, philosophy)
2. Beauty  (play, social leisure, art)
3. Goodness  (social service, altruism, religion)

Here are pictures of the prayer flags and what each represents, so I’m told as I wasn’t there:

The HeART of Spirituality & Creativity

Posed Spontaneity or . . .  Spontaneously Posed

(When I recover from trying to contain these wonderful, but wild women,

my aim is to post the focus & resulting journal pages of each workshop . . . when I recover).

DSCN4750“I have a great time and never miss a class.  I am not an artist but have learned and really enjoy my creations and the work we do together.  A great bunch of gals to meet with be supported by and to support.  I love working with Judith for the past several years.  It is always a good experience.  It will change your life. Really.”  Carol Falacara

DSCN4752“I love this workshop! I needed to continue to process this event in my life and this workshop lets my creativity come out to process.”  Cory Haninger

DSCN4753I enjoyed the most:  “What my fellow attendees share and how they inspire my journey and my artistic images.”  Katie Truitt

DSCN4765“I love this workshop because it’s a combination of a girl’s support group and an art class . . . a totally unique find of an art class invented by Judy!  Judy doesn’t teach boring painting technique but she does teach us how to open up our hearts and souls and realize that everything we create is wonderful!”  Sandhya Larsen

The End

P.S.  Instructions to participants on the feedback form: “I value your comments and feedback . . . and I need some more rave reviews for my testimonial pages.

I’m Waaaaaay Ahead of My Time . . .

DSCN4747Ever throw a party and no one shows up?  I spent about 3 hours this week setting up the Friday night 2 hour HeART of Spirituality & Creativity workshop.  I thought of EVERYTHING, paint, canvas tarp, plastic aprons, set out name tags, cut paper for the journals . . . 7 RSVP’s, 7 places neatly arranged with hand-outs, glue sticks, pens, pencils, paper towels . . . even cut the lemon cake I bought for refreshments . . .

6:30 start time and no one is there except me.  6:35 the first participant, Rachel, arrives.  Rachel and I chat.  She’s says the traffic was really heavy.  I check my phone messages.  .  Rachel and I chat.  I check my e-mail messages.  Rachel and I chat.

I’m starting to think that the typo mistake I made on all the hand-outs for August 9th wasn’t a typo.  Rachel leaves at 7:00 pm.  I eat the lemon cake.

See you all next Friday, August 9th at 6:30 pm . . .

(Turns out I had sent Rachel an e-mail confirming August 2nd – Rachel is always on time)

The HeArt of Spirituality & Creativity, week 1

Great group of women.  (Why oh why do so many men shy away from these kind of workshops?)

We painted the covers of journal notebooks with acrylic paint.  It was a 5 step process painting.  First step was the color of spirituality. The next 3 steps were spirituality in childhood, early adulthood, current time.  The last step was the colors of God (or whatever spiritual belief greater than them self they had)

Each step was done VERY quickly and layers of paint are built up on their journal covers.

The journals were wonderful.  Sorry that the lighting and my camera know-how were lacking as the journals are very bright and colorful.

Next one is coming up this Friday!  Check out the information here on the Workshop Schedule Page.

In the meantime here are some pictures.
